Join us as we bring Glenn back for another wonderful brush making workshop this fall. We had a sold out workshop 3 years ago and expect the same this time. Glenn Grishkoff has developed a national and international reputation as a brush maker and ceramic artist. To view his work, and to view a video of a recent brush making workshop, visit his website at www.glenngrishkoff.com
You will have the opportunity to make 8 to 10 brushes that can be used many different ways, including applying slips and glazes to ceramics. There will be a slide lecture and demonstrations of construction methods involved in making brushes, including knot-tying, epoxy mixing, cutting and wrapping hairs and methods to create brush handles. Participants will work with a variety of hairs, including buck tail hair, moose hair, horse hair, rooster hackle, broom corn straw and additional types of hairs. You are also encouraged to bring beads, found objects, or any other material from home that could be used to embellish your brush. If time allows, you are also encouraged to make and fire a brush handle out of clay at home to bring to the workshop. (Instructions will be given upon signing up).
This workshop will include all needed workshop materials, including a large assortment of quality hairs, wax linen threads, epoxy, bamboo, and a variety of hardwoods, rope sections, the use of saws and cutting devices and other needed supplies. At the end of the workshop Glenn will have both his brushes and brush making kits for sale.
A boxed lunch will be provided on Sunday along with beverages and snacks through the workshop.
Space will be filled on a first come basis. If you are interested, please fill out the Registration Form.
